"In the schoolhouse, we have the heart of the whole society." Henry Golden

The Aurora Rotary club has been actively involved in the City of Aurora since the date of its inception, 2000.

Like most clubs, it was begun by leaders in the Aurora/Streetsboro community who are seeking an organized way to give back to the community in a way that will say thank you for the successes they had achieved in their businesses.
Through dues, fines, fundraisers and donations, the Aurora Rotary Club accomplished and assisted many local projects.

The most powerful force in the promotion of international understanding and peace is exposure to different cultures. The world becomes a smaller, friendlier place when we learn that all people — regardless of nationality — desire the same basic things: a safe, comfortable environment that allows for a rich and satisfying life for our children and ourselves. Youth Exchange provides thousands of young people with the opportunity to meet people from other lands and to experience their cultures. This plants the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding.

Rotary emphasizes vocations that serve and we stress the highest of ethical standards through the 4-Way Test Contest. The purpose of the speech is to solve an ethical problem using the principles of the Four Way Test: Is it the Truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? The contest starts with in-school competition, and ends with a National Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest Winner.

Of the things we think, say or do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?

  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS

  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Each year, thousands of young people take part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program worldwide. Young people are chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice.
