Aurora Rotary donated a police dog to the Aurora Police Department.

The Aurora Club is involved in all the structured RI programs for New Generations
and we also conduct a range of other projects and programs directed to specific needs and opportunities.

The Rotaract Club at Hiram College is developing a program called Children of the Dump designed to work with other high schools and colleges through Rotary Clubs and their existing Rotaract Clubs (college Rotary Clubs) and Interact Clubs (high school Rotary Clubs). Its future intention is to train adults, high school students, and college students in a leadership, values, and problem-solving program designed to locate and train a few select people who live in impoverished areas to be become successful "grass-roots" entrepreneurs. Many educational institutions already have courses and programs involving travel, both domestically and internationally, for humanitarian purposes.  Students going on these trips often receive course credit and gain experience and insight into human suffering.

The Interact Club at Aurora High School will be introduced to a successful international project called SSSSH. SSSSH is designed to encourage others to perform anonymous acts of kindness for total strangers .  SSSSHing has been discovered to bring about community unity, similar to what occurs during search and rescue operations after a tornado, but without a tragedy. It is proven to teach others through example the benefits of celebrating diversity. And best of all, it gives the poorest of the poor an opportunity to give to others, creating new realizations of joy and a special understanding into one of the many remarkable benefits of being human. SSSSH has been promoted by PEOPLE Magazine, CNN, ABC Good Morning America, and the Discovery Channel.

Students of the Month - Two students are selected each month by teachers in their respective schools based on the following criteria:
• Students must be involved in community service, service to others, showing care
and offering help to others.
• Students must have good school attendance.
• Students must demonstrate a good attitude; try their best, work to get along with others.

The Rotary Club of Aurora has donated funds to purchase a Police Dog for the Aurora Police Department.
